& TUNING

Kiwi Performance motorcycles can provide Dyno testing and tuning services for most modern motorcycles. Our shop uses the Super-Flow CycleDyn system which has a Load Cell to simulate road resistance at pre-set or real time percentages.

Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) is widely used on modern motorcycles today but often bike owners will change or modify factory components which can introduce more air flow resulting in lean air/fuel ratio. Over lean A/F ratio can cause excessive heat, pinging, popping and damage internal parts rapidly, not to mention flat acceleration spots & poor power output as well.

Bike owners can also change, add or modify components that result in over rich A/F ratios which can cause a major drop in fuel economy, excessive carbon build -up causing detonation problems, fowled plugs, throttle bog, hard start / stall problems and non-optimum performance.

A series of run tests can determine if A/F ratios are in zone, lean or rich. If you have any doubts regarding the A/F ratio settings on your bike, contact us and book an A/F Ratio test run.

 
 

 
 

Dyno charts create a wide range of data to analyze and allow the technician to pin-point non-optimum areas. Advanced after market EFI modules such as the Power-Commander III USB or SERT (screamin eagle race tuner) can allow for accurate adjustment of fuel delivery, cylinder trimming and spark advance adjustment.
Adding a good set of free-flowing exhausts and quality air filter can all benefit performance greatly provided A/F ratio is dialed in correctly otherwise the actual benefits can be lost and damage can result. This dyno process is known as custom mapping.
